Aluminium extrusion

Extrusion can be used to turn aluminium bar stock into any required profile. The base material, that can consist of various types of aluminium alloys, is pushed through a die at high temperature with great force. The required bar stock profile is then obtained. It can then be shaped in a mould. Examples of products include window framing for ship building or profiles for the furniture industry.

MEPRO offers advice on the extrusion method to obtain the required aluminium profile. After extrusion a surface treatment such as anodising or powder-coating often follows. Obviously all other types of final processing such as bending, sawing, drilling, milling, etc. are among the options.
